Welcome to CWEP

The Comparative Welfare Entitlements Project (CWEP) contains information about the structure and generosity of social insurance benefits in 33 countries around the world. Its purpose is to provide an essential complement to program spending data that is available from international sources like the OECD’s Social Expenditure Database.

The dataset contains income replacement information for ten notional household types and provides other data about institutional features of national social insurance programs and tax benefits. The data contained here update and extend two earlier versions of the Comparative Welfare Entitlements Dataset (CWED and CWED2).
